It is a two-stage ceocache. 1st stage: you find a crucifix (N46° 27,233’ E17° 22,231’; height: 150 m) behind the church and you read the year number (four-digit). Add this number to the coordinates (both N and E) as those follow here: N46 25,413’ and E17 20,501. The first digit of year as the entire minutes, and the second, third and fourth digit as the decimals of minutes. You get the coordinates of the cache (2nd stage).
The medieval Szenyér village 1. stage: Szenyér church of the age of the House of Árpáds This church was built in 1270. This date is between Roman and Gothic art epoch and the building shows the feature of both style. You have to know this church was partially ruined by Turks in the course of wars of 16. century and was renewed in Baroque style when the destroyed village was resettled in 1715. The correction to show the original look was in 1973. 2. stage: Ruins of Szenyér eart-castle The Szenyér Castle was built in 1464 by Anthimy-family on the basis of authorization got from Hunyadi Mátyás king (Matthias I.). The Szenyér castle repulsed two Islam big sieges in 1544 and 1556, but it was lost in 1600 and Turks totally annihilated it. You can see only the remains of the defending earth works (mounds and moats) near the cache. An example to calculate the coordinates: in case the date would be 1945, then the longitude would be 46 25,413’+1,945’=46 27,358’ Alternative second cache (in case you don't want to be confronted with thorny bush, you can find an alternative second stage): N46 27.192' E17 22.210' Parking place: N46° 27,299’ E17° 22,275’ 132 m (along the highway No68).
