We invite you up to the Tapering Peak (Hegyesteto), the highest point of the area, from where you can admire a wonderful view to the city of Putnok and the Sajó valley. The only larger lookout point in the hills and mountains north of Bükk is the King Mátyás lookout that has been completed in 2023. The North Central Mountains can be seen from an unusual perspective from here. The panorama is beautiful. The blue triangle sign leads the hikers to the massive stone tower above Putnok.
In the area there is an old legend about the bearded wolf. This legend is about a fairy shephard, who could change into a wolf. Once he - in the shape of the wolf - attacked his wife on the meadow, because he was very angry with her being late with his lunch. Later he fall asleep and was unveiled by his wife, as she could find a piece of her rock between the teeth of his husband, while he was sleeping. The wife killed the bearded wolf, who is said to be buried under one of the rip-raps near the Tapering Peak.
