[ENG] 80 years ago, 1928, there was started a construction of Rapla-Virtsu 96 km long railway. It was opened for traffic on 01.12.1931 and closed again 37 years later, 26.05.1968. Although line from Rapla to Raiküla worked until 1971 to service Soviet Union's militarybase in Raiküla.
This cache introduces you the present state of this railway line. The best way to move around is by bike, because there are no rails there nowadays and by car you can't access everywhere. The road on the old railway dam is at times ecxellent and at times very bad. The coordinates will take you to the Rapla railway station and to find the cache you have to answer these questions: A - The number of stations on Rapla - Virtsu railwayline on 1931. B - The number of chimneys on Karuse railway station building. C - The number of stations, extant until nowadays. D - The number of nails on the border post between the Rootsi-Lihula stations. E - The number on Lihula watertower. F - The number of benches in platform of Rapla station - 1. G - The number of the year on waterpump on the photo. H - The number of windows on Rumba railway station. I - The number of pair of rails going from Rapla to Tallinn J - The number of stops in Pärnumaa county before last administrative reform. The coordinates of the cache are: N58° KL.MNO' E2P° QR.STU K=C-8 L=A*4!/45 M=D-17 N=F*7-1942+15*128+1 O=E-5 P=B Q=H-26 R=G-7!+3111 S=F-3 T=I+3 U=0!+J [EST] 80 aastat tagasi, 25.mail 1928 võttis Riigikogu oma VI istungjärgul vastu "Raudteevõrgu arendamise seadus"-e, mis pani paika Rapla - Virtsu raudtee ehitamise aastatel 1928-1931. Rapla - Virtsu 96km pikkuse raudteeliini ehitamist alustati 1928.a ja liikluseks avati see 01.12.1931.a. 37 aastat hiljem, 26.05.1968.a., raudteeliin aga suleti liikluseks , kuid lõik Raplast Raikülani töötas kuni 1971.aastani teenindamaks Raikülas asunud Nõukogude sõjavebaasi. Algul planeeriti liini ümberehitamist laiarööpmeliseks, kuid sellest mõttest loobuti ilmselt raha puudusel. 40 aastat tagasi, 25.mail 1968 väljus viimane reisirong Virtsust Tallinna kell 21.06. Rapla-Virtsu Raudtee aare võimaldab tutvuda raudteeliini praeguse olukorraga. Kuna raudteetammil enam rööpaid ei ole, siis parim viis raudteetammil liikumiseks on kasutada jalgratast, autoga täispikkuses raudtee läbimine ei ole võimalik. Raudteetammil kulgeva tee läbitavus kõigub väga heast kuni halva läbitavuseni ja suvisel ajal on soovitav kaasa võtta pikad püksid nõgeste eest kaitseks. Algkoordinaadid viivad Rapla raudteejaama aga aarde enda leidmiseks on vajalik leida vastused järgmistele küsimustele: A - Peatuste arv Rapla - Virtsu raudteeliinil 1931. aastal. B - Karuse jaamahoone korstnate arv C - Praeguseni säilinud jaamahoonete arv. D - Naelte arv Rootsi-Lihula peatuste vahel asuval piiritulbal. E - Number Lihula veetornil. F - Istepinkide arv Rapla jaama perroonil - 1. G - Aastaarv pildil oleval veepumbal. H - Rumba jaamahoone akende arv. I - Raplast Tallinna poole suunduvate rööpapaaride arv J - Pärnumaal asuvate peatuste arv enne viimast haldusreformi.
