Geocache Description:

A little short cut from Greensboro Bend to Lyndonville.

Horace G. Goss built this road over Wheelock Mountain in 1868. Charles H. Goss erected this monument in 1946 to honor his father. This road used to be closed during the winter but now stays open year round. Getting to the cache from either directon provides some great views. The foliage is great in the fall. I have seen moose, deer, bear, turkey, grouse, and many other species while traveling this road. I have given this a 2.5 terrain because of the swampy area around the monument. Boots might not be such a bad idea. Congratulations to Scubatime and Yoopers on FTF.
