Thanks again for making it such a success. I’ve ‘had to’ trawl
hundreds of email logs and found a few interesting quotes to sum up
the day, not in any order.
We found this one after Greensleeves, we should have done it the
other way round as by the time we reached the cache we had green
hats, hoods, legs, fronts, backs as well as sleeves. An easy find
as there were other bachers at GZ, though I'm sure we would have
got it anyway.
I think this was where I did my spectacular swan dive,
It was a new experience for me to have a queue of people
watching me sign a log and waiting for it to be passed along.
Seemed strange not to be hiding what I was doing.
tackled some dodgy iced over stream crossings - Mr Ski went
first then we sent the children (don't try this at home Kids)
is it just us - or does the mud really stick better when you're
having fun?!
This one really taxed the brain and boots !!
Took - soap (greatly needed after all that mud!)
Around here I realised that most of Essex seemed to be stuck to
my boots
Easy find, well it was in Steve's (Tiggersabout) hand at the
time!
just replacing when three dodgy characters arrived!!
I know a little rhyme that would help you crack this one but it
cannot be printed in a log!!!
still think Kev should have tried the ice
Perhaps geocaching should carry a health warning "Geocaching can
damage your ligaments".
the bird one certainly felt like more than 5km!
the hip flask is safe with me
Our Odometer showed we had walked 7.3 miles today so not bad in
thick mud and wellies!
When Alan said he was organising this meet for mid-January we
asked him for good weather and we are delighted that he
delivered.
Well it was either give up or leave the car in the car park
overnight.
Loved a pint on the boat (Benfleet Yacht club) at lunchtime
between caches - no wonder we didnt have time for the trails!
Did the Bird Trial today which seemed to record 5 miles on our
GPS rather than the 5km.
Thanks to whoever arranged the weather & for whoever
arranged that we broke no ankles on any of our many "shortcuts"
across the iced over ditches
Our GPSrs didn't quite agree on total mileage but I think the
average was about 10 miles.
kids still crazy, men still wanting to push the limit ice
crossing wise
getting there foiled our satnavs and proved to be the biggest
navigational challenge of the day
My how big!!
My favourite quote must be:-
I actually think there were more cachers than muggles here
today!
Hopefully John (Grimmerscotting) will soon be fit and well to
get out there to plant more of his interesting caches.
