Geocache Description:

Second in a series along the Catamount Trail in Whitingham

Cache is on the part of the Catamount Trail that goes past the Harriman Dam and the famous Glory Hole (see picture). It’s actually an old railroad bed from the late 1800’s – in summer you can still see some railroad ties and even an occasional railroad spike laying around. Check out this website for some historical info: (visit link)
This one is south of the dam, you don’t have to cross it. Use the WP's listed below, as the trail is a Z pattern - this is NOT a bushwhacking cache! The main trail is straight and level once you get past the Z – it’s the old railroad bed. Signal can be very touchy, but give it time and it will settle down.
Cache is a sandwich size lok ‘n lok with a few kid-friendly items. Please rehide carefully just as you found it.

4/24/11 Maintenance check, all is well. Please read the logs, and DON'T BUSHWHACK! STAY ON THE TRAIL!
