ENG: On the 23rd of August 1999 near Risti rail station in Läänemaa a memorial was put up in remembrance of all those people who were sent to Siberia from this area during the years 1941-1949. Through this station people were departed to Siberia not only from Läänemaa but also from the areas of nowadays Pärnu, Rapla, the islands of Hiiumaa and Vormsi. All in all, round of 3000 lives were departed from this station. The memorial "Raudteerööpad mäletavad..." ("The Rails Remember...") is situated about 20 meters away of the abandoned platform, were the local population lit candles to honor the memory of all those people who were departed to Siberia.

EST: 23. augustil 1999 avati Läänemaal Risti raudteejaama lähedal mälestusmärk kõigile Lääne-Eestist küüditatutele. Läbi Risti jaama kui Läänemaa piiripunkti viidi Siberisse (1941 – 1949) enamik läänlasi, aga ka Pärnumaa, praeguse Raplamaa, Hiiumaa ja Vormsi rahvast. Kokku küüditati siitkaudu ligi 3000 inimest. Mälestusmärk “Raudteerööpad mäletavad…” on paigutatud Risti jaamast mõnikümmend meetrit Tallinna pool asuvale väikesele mahajäetud platvormile, mille paemüüri juures on Risti rahvas varemgi küüditamise mälestuseks küünlaid süüdanud.
