Geocache Description:


[ENG] In this slightly hidden but very special place you can see the biggest offering stone on Saaremaa. It is 5.1m high and has a circumference of 19m. Some interesting legends and stories are connected with this place. For example, it was believed that near offering stones there's treasure buried. Next to this stone a guy was digging and said he found a treasure full of gold. (Our treasure is not full of gold but since it's the biggest stone then we used our biggest container and it's very full of different goodies!). How did such a big stone get into the field anyway? Well, on Saaremaa there are only 2 possibilities: Suur Tõll (Saaremaa's hero) or Devil. According to one story Devil himself brought it from Pöide sea and wanted to carry it to the tip of Sõrve peninsula but as always, rooster sang at the wrong time, Devil's apron broke and there the stone fell. According to another story, Tõll's wife carried it there.

About the cache
This cache is published on: [geocaching.com], [geopeitus.ee] and [opencaching.pl].
Site is located near Väkra village. Road access isn't hard but requires a few km extra drive. There are two roads leading here. One from North which is partly very narrow and overgrown - only passable by tractors or on foot. Other, which we strongly recommend, from South-East. It starts at the Valjala-Laimjala road - look for a road sign "Väkra 3km, Koksi 1km". Last 100m is on foot, across a field. Please restore cache camouflage as you found it. No digging necessary. Container is a 2.5l plastic box (dimensions: 18 x 18 x 8 cm) put in a vapour permeable membrane sachet - it should allow the box to dry fast after getting wet - please do NOT add any plastic bag.

Selles suhteliselt varjatud, kuid erilises kohas võite näha Saaremaa suurimat ohvrikivi,mille kõrgus on 5.1 meetrit ning ümbermõõt 19 m. Selle kohaga on seotud ka mõned huvitavad legendid. Näiteks arvatakse, et ohvrikivide ümbrus võiks väärt esemeid või lausa varandust peita. Ka selle kivi ümber olevat üks mees kaevanud ja teatanud hiljem, et kivi all olevat leivalõime täis kulda (Meie aare küll kulda täis ei ole, kuid kuna kivi on suur, siis kasutasime ka suurt aardekonteinerit ning see on triiki täis). Kuidas selline suur kivi siia väljadele sattus? Saaremaal on selleks ainult kaks võimalust: kas Suur Tõll või Vanapagan. Ühe jutu järgi olevat kivi Vanapagan ise Pöide mere äärest toonud ja tahtnud selle Sõrve sääre otsa viia. Kuid, nagu ikka, laulis kukk valel ajal, Vanapagana põllepaelad läinud katki ja sinna see kivi jäänudki. Teise loo järgi rüganud kivi kohale Suure Tõlli naine.

Paik asub Väkra küla lähistel. Juurdepääs pole raske, kuid nõuab väikest, paarikilomeetrist kõrvalepõiget. Kohale viib kaks teed. Põhjast viiv tee on kohati väga kitsas ja rohtunud ning juurdepääsetav ainult traktoriga või jala. Teine tee, mida me soojalt soovitame, läheneb kagust. Tee algab Valjala-Laimjala teelt - jälgi viita „Väkra 3 km, Koksi 1 km.” Viimased 100 meetrit peate minema jalgsi üle põllu. Taasta maskeering nagu see oli. Kaevata ei ole vaja. Konteineriks on plastkarp (2,5l - mõõtmed: 18 x 18 x 8 cm), mis on pandud musta kilekotti/spetsiaalsesse ümbrisesse ja see peaks laskma karbil kiiresti kuivada. Testime seda, seega palun ärge pange karpi kilekotti.
