[ENG] Lao boglake is situated in Õmma bog, on the borders of Läänemaa and Raplamaa counties. The folktales are telling, that during the Great Northern War (1700-1721) a whole village of the manor Maidla went to the voluntary death to this bog, because of great famine. The other version tells us about escaping from the great plague.
Nowadays there is a State forest management centre's (RMK) forest hut. To it leads a boardwalk.
[EST] Läänemaa ja Raplamaa piiril asuvas Õmma rabas paikneb Lao rabajärv. Rahvasuu teab rääkida, et Põhjasõja ajal olevat Maidla mõisa ühe küla rahvas suure näljahäda sunnil terves koosseisus sinna vabasurma läinud. Teine versioon räägib ka suure katku eest järve pagemisest.
Tänapäeval asub seal RMK Õmma raba metsaonn. Onnini viib ka laudtee turbaraba servalt.
