[ENG] Paide is one of the oldest towns in Estonia. It was granted the townrights on 30 September 1291. The name of Paide derives from limestone, in low Saxon - Wittenstein. The tower and walls of the Paide stronghold were built from limestone. The cache is hidden in the place, where limestone came from.
[EST] Paide on üks Eesti vanemaid linnu, saanud linnaõigused juba 1291. aastal. Tema algne nimi oli alamsaksa keeles Wittenstein, mis tähendab valget kivi ehk paekivi, millest ehitati siinse kindluse müürid ja tornid.
Aare asub kohas, millest pärineb linnuse ehitamiseks toodud paekivi.
