About the Park
Did you know that DAR State Park was full
of history? This area is thought to be the site of the first
permanent Euro-american agricultural settlements in Vermont. In
1731, The french constructed a fort at Chimney Point to prevent the
British advance up the Champlain Valley. You can read more about it
here. The
pavilion was also one of the locations used in filming What Lies
Beneath.

Searching for the Cache
Please be mindful of where you step. DAR
State Park has spots loaded with poison ivy. Your best approach
will be from Captain John's Cabin. The final is hidden near some
other remnants of the park that I will let you discover on your
own. Please do not post this information in your logs.
There is a day use or camping fee to visit
the park during the season - Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day
weekend. Open for day use: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM or Official Sunset -
