About yesterday’s explosion - Maliciously, we were accused that the temperature, when carried out our experiment, was several degrees higher than the permissible limit. That could not happen because Mr Cr. Thompson (PhD, Chemistry) supervised the conduct of the experiment personally.
To keep the temperature constant, we were using lithium batteries, though laboratory assitant F. Molyka suggested an alternative method. The explosion could probably have been caused by an afflux of oxygen which resulted from spontaneous combustion and which lasted for a few minutes. Having been confronted with the aforementioned problem, Mr Tompson told us to cool the mixture down using Sabato&Co method, a method which means an immediate temperature reduction by tens of degrees. Using hydrogen compounds, this method is not compatible with lithium batteries, which threw all of us into panic. The room echoed with Mr Tompson’s ‘Be calm!’, right away the “Condition C” alert was issued.
Cannot recall what happened afterwards, only that our assistant Molyka was lying on the floor. ‘He’s alive,’ Mr Tompson said a couple of minutes before the rescue team arrived.
The accident may have been an act of sabotage. Now, go there yourself to find out the real cause of the accident by detonating another small bomb. Even though you can go there by car, you will have to make a detour because of the explosion.
