An ancient pine leans over the Võru – Loosi road on the
eastern slope of Kütiorg valley, at the top of the Toborna Hill.
Centuries have exhausted the stately senior’s branches and
broken down its top. The informed reveal that this used to be an
old sacred grove of which only this pinetree has survived. There is
also a legend in connection with the tree. Namely, it points out
where the gold that disappeared from the Vastseliina Manor is
buried, but only on the full moon nights. In 1847 a Russian
orthodox school was founded on the Toborna slope which was meant to
make the Noodasküla village locals revert into orthodox. The school
did not last long, but its foundation can still be seen in the
thicket near the pine.
Toborna pettäi has been a signpost for and witnessed the lives
of an unknown number of past generations. Now also you have the
opportunity to meet the stately senior in person. Even though at
its autumn of life, it has agreed to protect yet another secret of
a treasure. If you stand behind it, it shows you the way straight
to the treasure with its right hand. To stumble upon the treasure,
find the perimeter of the oldest part of the gate-keeper, multiply
it by ten, and start walking from the tree.

Kütioru idanõlval, Tobornamäel, kummardub üle Võru - Loosi
maantee iidne mänd. Sajandid on selle vana rauga oksi räsinud ja
ladvagi murdnud. Teadjamad räägivad, et siin olla olnud hiiekoht,
millest ainukesena seesama mänd alles on jäänud. Rahvasuu mäletab
ka lugusid Vastseliina lossi kullast, mille suunda oskab vana mänd
täiskuuöösiti näidata. Täpsemaid mälestusi on säilinud 1847 aastal
Toborna kaldale asutatud vene õigeusu koolist, millega taheti
Noodasküla elanikke keisriusku meelitada. Kooli eluiga ei saanud
kuigi pikk, kuid maja alusmüür on veel praegugi männi lähedal võsas
näha.
Toborna pettäi on olnud äraarvamata põlvkondadele teetähiseks ja
kadunud aegade tunnistajaks.
Nüüd on võimalus Sinul oma silmaga seda iidset vanakest tunnistada.
Küll raugaeas, võttis ta varjata aarde saladust. Kui seisad ta
selja taga, siis näitab ta oma parema käega justtäpselt aarde
