This is our first attempt at creating a Cache, unfortunately because of the high number of visitors to the site we have made it a Virtual Cache. (It's now being going over 22 years!) We have also made it a 2 part cache because of the delightful walk between the two sites. ( The idea is to get the two answers to the questions below, and e-mail the answers to " Macacan@yahoo.co.uk " (Please do not email from geocaching.com as I cannot reply!) We will reply and let you know if you are correct. It is a great day out when it is sunny, but it can get very cold when it is windy. The total distance is approx. a 1 mile round trip on foot. At the first site be sure to visit the new museum, it's free. There are plenty of places to get a cup of tea, or something stronger if you prefer. You should also take in the ferry trip if possible, it gives a good insight into the history of the area. The second part of the Cache is found at N 53° 24.371 / W 002° 59.887.
1, How many Irish people left from this spot and between what years?
2, In what room did the heroes lose their lives?.
