This 8 1/2" x 6" cache is on Heron Island on Eastman Lake in Grantham, NH. It has previously been known as Eastman Pond Island or Big Island. Heron Island can be reached by kayak, canoe, etc., or by swimming from the nearby Island View road.
There is a public boat launch on Road Round the Lake at coordinates N43 30.801 W72 06.958. Parking for the boat launch is at Lakeview Place, which is off Alpine Vista, coordinates N43 30.765 W72 06.999. Due to milfoil threats, boats should be washed at the boat wash on Eastman Road. A Lake Host may be present at the boat launch to interview boaters when launching.
The cache is located in the woods on this small island. The Eastman Community Association permitted this cache placement.
