My mother's father came to this country from Sweden. He started
a gift shop, which was for years in East Wilton, Maine. We'd go
visit & he'd take me out into the shop. He'd open up a cupboard
to reveal a giant jar of Swedish Fish! It was always something to
look forward to. I must say, it wasn't until years later that I
found out they make other colors of Swedish Fish than red. In fact,
I hardly see the "other" colors as real Swedish Fish.
What kind of fish is a Swedish Fish supposed to be? Is it a
cod?
Maybe, But I don't think so. . .
Is it a flounder?
Definitely not.
Is it a herring?
I like to think that it is a herring.
