Geocache Description:

This story is not as pathetic as it sounds. I referred to this way to make my parents edgy, but it was really a pretty sweet deal for me. In fact, I could barely believe my luck. It's about getting to stay with (Great) Aunt Madge and Uncle George Rumney when I was just a sprout.

The cache is not right at the Rumney's house, which is the one with three garage doors or at the house next door either. It's in a public location a short distance away.

Back when I was in elementary school, my family would visit our Uncle George and Aunt Madge each summer. (Great Uncle and Great Aunt, actually--they were my father's uncle and aunt). I loved these visits because they were wonderful people who loved children and plied us with treats of various types.


The last time we visited--George died later that year--Madge asked my parents to leave me for the week, saying they could come back and get me the following weekend. I was informed of their decision, not asked if I would like to stay, but I was totally for it. George and Madge were even nicer than my grandparents with whom I also stayed for a week each summer. To top it all off, Madge somehow talked my Mom into taking a kitten off her hands. I think this was a more or less constant problem for country folks with barn cats. I'd even have a pet when my week on the farm was over.

And...as if all that wasn't enough, I would be able to chafe my parents for the rest of their lives for trading me for a cat. Life seldom got better for this little kid.Congratulations to gpicard and glimmereyes for being FTF.
