Geocache Description:

ENG: Iru Linnapära (castle hill) is a 15meters high hill located at the eastern border of the Pirita river. At the end of Bronze Age and beginning of the Iron Age in the 7-5bc century it was a fortified settelment and during the 6-11 bc century there were Linnapära fortress. Fortress was destroyed by fire three times, finally it was abandoned and the new castle was buit in to Toompea. Near Iru are many monuments: stone graves, several old settlements, cult and a sacred places.

EST: Iru Linnapära ehk Iru linnamägi on Tallinna idapiiril Pirita jõe äärsel neemikul asuv kuni 15 meetri kõrgune küngas. 7.–5. saj e. m. a. pronksiaja lõpus ja rauaaja alguses oli seal kindlustatud asula ja 6.–11. saj Linnapära linnus. Linnus hävis kolm korda tules, lõpuks see hüljati ja rajati uus linnus Toompeale. Iru ümbruses on palju muistiseid: kivikalmeid, mitu muistse asula aset, kultusekive ja hiiepaik.
