Geocache Description:

A cache off the trail that leads to the top of Bare Mountain.

Parking for this cache is at the Notch Visitors Center on Route 116 in Amherst, just passed the South Hadley line.  You will need to cross the very busy road to the well marked trailhead. 

This trail immediately increases in elevation and remains steep.  Don't worry, I'm not going to make you climb to the top, but I highly recommend it!  (There's another cache up there too!)  I did, however,  just want to give you a taste of the hike on the well marked and very popular trail.  There are muggles year round but more-so in the warmer months.  Many dog walkers and cardio exercise buffs.  I can be found on this trail at least 2-3 times a week in the summer using the hike as extreme exercise.  I can get to the summit in just under 15 minutes, though that took some training.

This cache was placed to bring you here and I hope you enjoy the area as much as I do.  Your walk to the cache will only take you less than a quarter of the way up the mountain, but if it's gorgeous out, you are up for an adventure, and you have the time,  I recommend you keep going to enjoy the view from the top.
