We invite you to visit Öttömös, the highest and most western village of Csongrád county in Hungary. Don't be afraid, there is no need for oxigen mask, since its altitude is only 121 m above the sea level. In this small village you may find the statue of László Magyar (1818-1864), who is one of the most significant Africa travellers of the 19th century. During his expeditions he made ethnographic and geographical studies in the region of the Kasai, Cuanza and Zambezi rivers. He discovered the secret of the "quilombo"-s, where those people lived their secret lives, who escaped from slavery.
