I noticed a new (to me) sign on Bay road, so I had to stop and check it out. It is the Ben and Virginia Ricci Conservation Area, a partnership between the Town of Amherst and the Kestrel Trust to protect 20 acres of wildlife land. I walked along the edge of the field and down a fresh yellow blazed trail. The trail joins an older red blazed trail that comes over from Mechanic St and continues up the hill marked both red and yellow. I followed it to the top of the first hill and placed a cache nearby.
You can park near the new sign, or at the end of Mechanic St and find the side trail.
