From this spot you have a beautiful overview over Eyjafjörður and Akureyri. You may park your car near the cache. The box is big enough to hold coins and TBs.
Eyjafjörður is Iceland's longest fjord and measures 60 km from mouth to bottom. Its greatest width is 25 km between Siglunes and Gjögurtá at the fjord's mouth but for the greater part of its length it is usually 6–10 km wide. Ólafsfjörður and Héðinsfjörður are two fjords that branch from Eyjafjörður.
The fjord is surrounded by hills and mountains on both sides but the mountains are considerably taller on the west side, in the mountain range of the Tröllaskagi peninsula. In the outer part of the fjord there are no lowlands along the coast as the steep hills roll directly into the sea. Further south in the fjord there are strips of lowland along both coasts; these are wider on the west side.
Several valleys lead from Eyjafjörður, most of them to the west where the two most significant are: Hörgárdalur and Svarfaðardalur. Dalsmynni is the only valley on the east side. However the greatest valley in Eyjafjörður is also called Eyjafjörður and runs directly south from the fjord itself. It is long and wide and home to one of Iceland's largest agricultural regions.
The island of Hrísey in the middle of Eyjafjörður is the second largest island of the coast of Iceland and often referred to as "The Pearl of Eyjafjörður".
Eyjafjörður is, of course, also home of Akureyri - Iceland's second largest town.
CHANGELOG
11.07.2016: Added a new logbook. Left the other logbooks in the box since they still had PLENTY of empty pages; added a SPOILER picture (note: This only helps when the cache is put back exactly as found)
01.05.2018: Just a comment: If there is too much snow and you are unable to find the cache - Then it is a "did not find". Pictures of the spot covered in snow are NOT accepted as a log proof. I am sorry, but these are the rules. From now on such logs will be deleted without further notice. In addition to that, the cache has the attribute not available in winter. I would not say it is impossible to find it in winter, but you need luck depending on the amount of snow.
04.09.2018: The box and the logbook were replaced and the cache was moved slightly.
