Geocache Description:

You can find the cache near the sluice-gate where the Rábca river flows into Mosoni-Duna river (it is a branch of Duna).

The bed of Rábca river changed several times due to natural processes and regularizations of riverbed during the last millennium.
The today bed of Rábca from Abda bridge to Mosoni-Duna river is a totally artificial channel since Y1990s. The old riverway got backwater it is forking from new riverbed near the Abda bridge.
No matter going on the right or left bank of new riverway of Rábca from the highway No1 because at the confluence you will find a sluice gate where you can cross the river.
This sluice gate avoid Abda from floods. When the level of water of Mosoni-Duna higher than Rábca, the Rábca flows backward. In these cases the gate will be closed.
You can find sketches about the changes of riverbed and mouths here: (visit link)
