Every Cache Deserves a Second Chance is a cache I placed in Sharon, MA last year prior to a New England Revolution game. As you can read in the description, the cc that you can now find there was originally placed at Colt State Park but publication failed due to a conflict with a multi cache in the area. This cache has a similar but weirder story so I figured it was only appropriate to make it #2 in the "series".
On October 14, 2014 I visited Westport, MA and while hiking/geocaching in the Forge Pond Conservation Area, I made two hides along with a couple finds. One of those hides became Tom Brady, while the other I never even got around to even submitting for publication since I learned that it would conflict with a mystery cache in the area. I figured next time I was in the area I could swing by and pick it up.
A few weeks later, on November 9th, 2014, I received a message from Hikergirl42 who asked if I happened to have an unpublished geocache in Westport. My duct tape camo style and notable trade items had gone noticed by her when she happened to stumble across my cc while attemping to find the mystery cache I mentioned earlier. I confirmed that it was mine, and she asked if I would like her to return it with her which I agreed to, considering I could probably get it back sooner from her than whenever I get back out to Westport.
Fast forward eight months to a geocaching event I hosted on July 3rd, 2015, where HIkergirl42 and I met for the first time. We were having a chat alongside some other cachers when it suddenly struck me that she may still have this cache. I had forgot about it and honestly thought she may have very well thrown it out. I brought it up and immediately saw the light bulb go off and she confirmed that not only did she still have it, but it was in her trunk out in the parking lot. She ran off to retrieve it, and upon return I immediately recognized the container that I had dropped off in Westport nine months prior.
So here we are, a geocache ten months in the making. It is located at Hampton Meadows in Barrington, a beautiful greenway that I discovered thanks to geocaching. You'll find Hikergirl42's 11/9/14 log on the first page of the log, but of course FTF is up for grabs per usual. Please rehide the cache well, and as always, happy caching!
