Geocache Description:

A puzzle cache in Essex

Many people celebrate their major achievements with caches so I thought I'd follow suit.

Unusually though, I've decided to celebrate my 1863rd find, rather than one of the usual round numbers.

It's an arbitrary number and as it was my most recent find at the time of setting the puzzle, it seemed vaguely appropriate. The cache in question was "Rally Round 197 aka Anagram Teacher", a rare first to find on one of Mr Crow's wonderful Rally Round series.

So, onto the puzzle.

Think carefully! You will need to make some connections to the following clues and find a number that represents the following:

A – Giovanni Maria Mastai-Ferretti: Second digit (of three)

B – 3rd digit of the square root

C – Rail Splitter (number/4)

D – Kestrel, Peregrine, Goshawk. Alwalton: Month+1.

E – Frederick Muhlenberg was the 1st. How many?

F – November: Les Troyens

G – "Four score and seven years ago...": Month-3

H – GC: Vorarlberg: 3rd digit-4th digit

J – Henry John Temple: Number

K – December: Charles James Yellowplush (/4)

L – January: Adelphi: Yorkshire

M – January: 'Citius, Altius, Fortius'

N – Freemason's Tavern: Month-2

Checksum for A-N: 54

Hopefully the puzzle will prove to be educational and enlightening. Good luck!
