Welcome to The Chalet Wildlife Management Area is located in the towns of Dalton, Cheshire, and Lanesboro, at the western edge of the Berkshire Plateau, and covers 6,370 acres.
Short walk from the car. This path can be very muddy and super icy in the winter. This one is a good start to a day of caching.
Regarding the No Trespassing signs
From what I can tell from the cell tower company, they only own a small portion of the land that the tower is on the rest is public land. So those signs are just for the cell tower area. I contacted mass wildlife as the Chalet WMA is there land but they have not replied to confirm. Personally I would still park and hike in from there and simply state this to anyone who might question. I can't imagine anyone would care.
If you want to play it by the books there is this map of mass public lands. It shows some publicly displayed nearby parking spots, although it looks like a bushwack.
