Geocache Description:

This cache is one of eight placed along Whipple Road, which runs from Route 116 to Route 115A in the Town of Jefferson.


Colonel Joseph Whipple (1738-1816), the father of Jefferson, came to the area in 1772.

In 1986, the New Hampshire state legislature passed a bill to name a 3,298-foot peak in the Pliny Range Mount Joseph Whipple. It is on the west flank of Mt. Starr King in the Town of Jefferson.
