EST] Kohtla-Nõmme Rahvamaja hoone on ehitatud 1952. aastal. Maja on ehitatud tollele ajastule omaselt uhkes stalinistlikus stiilis, kuid 1970ndate aastate kapitaalremondi tulemusena pole külluslikust sisearhitektuurist tänaseks enam midagi säilinud. Kuni 1993. aastani kandis maja nimetust Ed.
P.S. ”Tack” tuleb sellest, et algselt oli karbikeseks metalne pastillikarp, millel kiri ”Tack” (”Aitäh” rootsi keeles).
[ENG] The building of Kohtla-Nõmme Folk House was built in 1952. The house has been built in the stalinist style of the era, but as a result of the overhaul of the 1970s, the abundant interior architecture has no longer been preserved. Until 1993, the house was called the Ed. Vilde folk house. The folk house was under the control of the Kohtla mining industry. After the formation of Kohtla-Nõmme rural municipality, the building became a subdivision of the municipality and began to be called Kohtla-Nõmme Folk House. During its glory in the 1960s and 70s, tens of hobby groups were working in the house, and lively self-activity was from early morning to late night.
In today's circumstances, its 4 different halls and three floors are understandably too large and luxurious by its scale. Luckily, however, those who find their way to the folk house still continue some of their activities. There is a hobby group, a historic room and a gym.
Kohtla-Nõmme is now a part of Toila rural municipality and recently the front of the house was renovated.
