This cache was placed to mark the trailhead and parking area for the Wiessner Woods. The Wiessner woods area was previously owned by Fritz and Muriel "Moo Moo" Wiessner. After Fritz's death, Muriel wished to preserve the land, and in 1992 she donated it to the Stowe Land Trust. It is popular place to explore in all seasons except for mud season (April to early May) when it is best to stay off trails.
The blue-blazed Catamount Trail passes through the parking area and Wiessner Woods on its way between Topnotch and Edson Hill resorts. The cache is a winter-friendly bison tube, just a short distance uphill from the parking lot.
