Hurraa! Oled jõudnud oma matkateega poole peale (või algusesse või lõppu, kui siit alustad). Oled jõudnud skautide valdustesse – käitu vastavalt! Üle jõe paistab nimeandja – Tagametsa jahiloss. Selle ehitas 1914. aastal kohalik ärimagnaat, Kabala mõisnik parun Victor von Taube. Paraku jõudis ta ise siia täpselt ühel korral, enne kui suri. Mõisate riigistamise järel läksid hooned Kabala metskonnale. Enne teist maailmasõda kasutati jahilossi algkoolina, metsatööliste majutuskohana ja ka Viljandi vangla üksusena. Nõukogude perioodil anti loss Tallinna Turgude Peavalitsuse puhkebaasiks, hiljem Võhma sovhoosile ning lõpuks kolhoosile Leninlik Tee. 1999. aastal ostis kinnistu Eesti Skautide Ühing. SPA (Sakala PuhkeAla) seeria tutvustab teile Saarjõe õpperada. Rada pakub vaheldusrikast loodusmaastikku Saarjõe kaunitel kallastel. Kohati põlismetsailmeline mets ja kobraste poolt kaldasse uuristatud salakäigud teevad raja põnevaks ja salapäraseks. Õpperada kopeerib suures osas Saarjõge koos oma ürgoruga, mis on kohati üle 5 m sügav ja 40-50 m lai.
Hurray – half way! You have arrived to the territory of scouts. Across the river you can see the name giver of the cache – the Tagametsa hunting hut. It was built in 1914 by a local businessman and landlord of Kabala, Baron Victor von Taube. Unfortunately, he managed to be here just once before he died. Later the place was used as a school house, lodging house of foresters, even a prison. In soviet times it was used as a party place by several institutions. The Scouts acquired the place in 1995, restored it completely in 2005 and now use it as a camp ground, but also rent it out. See more at www.tagametsa.ee
The SPA (Sakala Recreation Area) series introduces you to the Saarjõgi hiking trail. The trail offers a varied natural landscape on the beautiful banks of the river Saarjõgi. In some places, the primaeval forest and the secret passages dug into the bank by beavers make the trail exciting and mysterious. The study trail largely copies Saarjõgi with its ancient valley, which is sometimes over 5 m deep and 40-50 m wide.
