Geocache Description:

Aare on peidetud 2020. aasta detsembriseeria 6. detsembri aardena.

Teedeministeeriumis projekteeris raudteelaste elamuid.

Burmani arhitektuur oli valdavalt juugendstiilis.

Aarde leidmiseks mängi seda MÄNGU (tasuta, vajab sisselogimist näiteks facebooki või gmaili kaudu, võib kasutada ka ajutist e-maili aadressi näiteks siit lehelt https://temp-mail.org/) Ühe maja juures pööra erilist tähelepanu kiviaiale, sest aarde leiad aia parempoolsest nurgast.

This cache introduces the work of Karl Friedrich Burman (1882-1965), who was one of the first professional architects in Estonia and also one of the founders of Estonian national architecture.

He was an architect who lived very deeply into every project. He built as if for himself and actually lived in several houses he designed.

As a cultivator of the national romantic trend, he was one of the first to raise the question of the nationality of Estonian architecture. The Kalev society house designed by him in Pirita (1911–1912, destroyed), which expressively synthesized modernity and nationality, has remained a symbolic building of Estonian architecture.

He was one of the first to design large rental houses in Tallinn, based on Nordic architecture. In the Ministry of Transport he designed the homes for the railwaymen.

Burman's architecture was predominantly Art Nouveau.
