Endistel aegadel asus siin legendaarne “Vzmorje” puhkekeskus. Teenekate kosmonautide ja teadlaste suvituskohaks valiti uuringute tulemusena paik, kus paistab kõige rohkem päikest kogu NSVL läänerannikul. Külalegendide kohaselt olevat siinsel rannaliival sammunud Valentina Tereškova, esimene naiskosmonaut, isiklikult!

This seaside holiday resort was called „Vzmorje” in the old times. The location of the resort for meritorious cosmonauts and scientists was chosen according to research, which indicated this to be the sunniest place in the whole western coast of USSR. According to the village legends, the first female cosmonaut, Valentina Tereshkova herself has walked on these beaches!
