Hathaway's Pond is a wonderful area for walking trails, swimming, and picnicking. This hide is intended to be a quick walk to a geocache for when you just need a cache. The trail leads to no where, hence the title. Once you find the cache, head back to the parking area, use one of the trails identified on the information board for a nice walk. The longest trail is about 1.4 miles, and all are easy, hardly any hills, although there are lots of roots. The pond is a favorite for our family to walk, providing nice shade on hot summer days.
Please bring your own pen and return cache carefully.
Edit: The start of the path has a downed tree, walk to the left of the tree and bear right to get on the correct path.
Parking is available to all during the off season - after Labor Day and before Memorial Day. It is also accessible during the summer season with a local Barnstable Beach Sticker, or after the gate attendants leave at 4 pm. Parking permits are required and daily parking permits are available during the day until 4pm until mid August. All beach and parking rules are strictly enforced.
There is an unregistered trackable for the FTF.
