When water is running high and fast here in the Springtime, loud gurgles and burbles are what you'll be hearing at this beautiful and peaceful spot on Turner Pond in Walpole. I don't remember this level of effervescence from walks here in last year's drought, so I have to guess it won't be as noisy and musical the rest of the year, but it's still a pretty spot. Great for a picnic, or for children of all ages. Red-wing blackbirds abound across the trail at the quieter area behind the little waterfall. There are some nice wooded paths to explore in the surrounding Turner Pond Conservation Area, including a nearby section of the Bay State Trail..
This is a traditional cache. Just a short walk from parking. There is a small token for the FTF. Enjoy!
Note: there is a "No Trespassing" sign at the gate here at the parking location, but you can disregard it according to my source at the Walpole Conservation Commission, which manages the land. Apparently in the past before the gates were up some people were four-wheeling through here and creating a disruption so the sign was probably put up by a neighbor to discourage them. This is open conservation land for all to enjoy.
