(Auto)Gara Filaret
Peste drum de la locația acestui cache veți găsi clădirea fostei Gări Filaret, astăzi servind ca Autogara Filaret. Aceasta a fost prima gară din București, deschisă la 31 octombrie 1869, cu ocazia inaugurării primei linii de cale ferată din Principatele Unite ale Moldovei și Țării Românești, calea ferată București–Giurgiu, servind ca punct terminus al acestei linii.
Deschiderea oficială a gării a avut loc sub forma unei ceremonii grandioase. În acea dimineață de toamnă, în sunete de corn (vechiul semnal de plecare al trenurilor) și în uralele entuziaste ale privitorilor ce împânziseră peronul, „Trenul de Onore Michaiu Bravul“, remorcat de locomotiva cu același nume, a plecat spre Giurgiu, la orele 10:45. Garnitura ce-i avea între pasagerii săi pe membrii Guvernului, pe reprezentanţii Corpului Diplomatic şi pe cei ai autorităţilor din localităţile traversate de noua legătură feroviară, a parcurs cei 67 de kilometri ai traseului în numai o oră şi 30 de minute, circulând cu o „iuţeală mijlocie“ de aproximativ 45 de km/oră şi intrând în gara Giurgiu, care-o aştepta împodobită cu nenumărate ghirlande şi drapele tricolore, „la ceasurile 12 ½“.
După construirea Gării de Nord, în anul 1872, și prin dezvoltarea rețelei de cale ferată, gara Filaret a început să-și piardă din importanță, până la începutul anului 1960, când este amenajată ca autogară pentru deservirea liniilor de autobuze din zona de sud a metropolei. Inițial s-a dorit amenajarea unui muzeu al căilor ferate, o propunere mult mai bună decât actuala întrebuințare.
Corpul principal al fostei gări constă dintr-o hală, înconjurată de construcții de zidărie pe trei laturi, în care intrau, în trecut, patru linii de cale ferată. Pe cele trei laturi se grupează un hol pentru casele de bilete, o sală de așteptare și birouri administrative. Hala este acoperită cu ferme metalice care susțin învelitoarea. Forma originală a clădirii a fost conservată, afară de câteva modificări de detaliu și de scoaterea liniilor de cale ferată.

Filaret Railway(Bus) Station
Across the road from the location of this cache you will find the building of the former Filaret Train Station (Gara Filaret), today serving as the Filaret Bus Station (Autogara Filaret). This was the first railway station in Bucharest, opened on October 31, 1869, during the inauguraion of the first railway line in the United Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia, the Bucharest-Giurgiu railway, serving as a terminus point of this line.
The official opening of the station took place in the form of a grand ceremony. That autumn morning, in the sounds of horns and the enthusiastic cheers of the spectators that were spread all across the platform, the "Michaiu Bravul Train of Honor", towed by the locomotive with the same name, left for Giurgiu at 10:45. The train that included among its passengers the members of the Government, the representatives of the Diplomatic Corps and those of the authorities from the localities crossed by the new railway connection, covered the 67 kilometers of the route in only one hour and 30 minutes, travelling with an average speed of about 45 km/h and entering the Giurgiu train station, which welcomed it adorned with countless garlands and tricolor flags, at 12½ o'clock.
After the construction of the North Railway Station (Gara de Nord), in 1872, and through the development of the railway network, Filaret station began to lose its importance, until the early 1960s, when it was repurposed as a bus station to serve bus lines in the southern part of metropolis. Initially, it was planned to be set up as a railway museum, a much better proposal than the current designation.
The main body of the former station consists of a hall, surrounded by masonry constructions on three sides, which in the past included four railway lines. On the three sides there is a lobby for ticket offices, a waiting room and administrative offices. The hall is covered with metal trusses that support the roof. The original shape of the building has been preserved, with the exception of a few changes in detail and the removal of the railway lines.
