Pancierový vlak Hurban
Mesto Zvolen je bohaté na historické pamiatky, dokonca aj na tie s vojenskou tematikou. Vo Višnovského parku, vedľa železničnej stanice vo Zvolene, sa nachádza kópia jedného z troch pancierových vlakov (Hurban) vyrobených v čase SNP pracovníkmi železničných dielní vo Zvolene.
Pancierové vlaky - Hurban, Masaryk a Štefánik, sa aktívne zapájali do bojov v Slovenskom národnom povstaní. Vlak Hurban sa prvýkrát zúčastnil bojov na konci septembra na trati medzi Hronskou Dúbravou a Žiarom nad Hronom. Neskôr, 4. októbra, sa podieľal na odrazení nemeckého útoku pri Čremošnom.Vystavený pancierový vlak je replika vyrobená pre film o SNP v roku 1974. Z pôvodných troch pancierových vlakov sa dodnes zachovali len dva vozne. Tankový vozeň je odstavený v priestoroch železničného depa vo Zvolene, guľometný vozeň bol prevezený do parku pred múzeom SNP v Banskej Bystrici.
Zvolenský zámok
Zvolenský zámok je gotická stavba s renesančným vonkajším opevnením, situovaná na miernom návrší takmer v osi dlhého zvolenského námestia. Bol postavený v rokoch 1370-1382 uhorským kráľom Ľudovítom I. ako poľovnícky zámok typu talianskych mestských kastelov. Postupne prestavaný v duchu renesancie a baroka, v 60. rokoch 20. storočia komplexne zrekonštruovaný. V súčasnosti jeho priestory využíva Slovenská národná galéria Bratislava. Zvolenský zámok je zapísaný v Zozname národných kultúrnych pamiatok.

Hurban Armoured Train
The city of Zvolen is rich in historical monuments, even military-themed ones. In the Višnovský Park, next to the railway station in Zvolen, there is a copy of one of the three armoured trains (Hurban) produced at the time of the Slovak National Uprising by the workers of the railway workshops in Zvolen.
Armoured trains - Hurban, Masaryk and Štefánik , were actively involved in the fighting in the Slovak National Uprising. The Hurban train first took part in the fighting at the end of September on the line between Hronská Dúbrava and Žiar nad Hronom. Later, on 4 October, he was involved in the fencing of the German attack near Čremošné.The exposed armoured train is a replica made for the 1974 SNP film. Of the original three armoured trains, only two wagons have been preserved to date. The tank wagon is parked in the premises of the railway depot in Zvolen, the machine gun wagon was transported to the park in front of the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising in Banská Bystrica.
Zvolen Castle
Zvolen Castle is a Gothic building with Renaissance external fortifications, situated on a slight hill almost in the axis of a long zvolen square. It was built in 1370-1382 by The Hungarian King Louis I as a hunting castle of the type of Italian urban caste. Gradually rebuilt in the spirit of the Renaissance and the Baroque, in the 1960s it was comprehensively reconstructed. At present, its premises are used by the Slovak National Gallery Bratislava. Zvolen Castle is registered in the List of National Cultural Monuments.
