The Laurie Event(s) are designed to honor legendary cacher Laurie Freeman AKA Half-Canadian and Scooter the Wonder Dog, AKA funbeach, AKA the creator of Cache, Dash, Splash events and AKA Wizard of Ooze (as a reviewer).   Laurie passed away on January 18, 2021.

Laurie found thousands of caches, and more importantly she hid hundreds of creative and interesting caches for the geo-community. Her events drew hundreds of people. She held events in Canada and in the US and loved devising fun and funny ways to lure cachers into the game. She thought out of the box, and found joy in bringing all kinds of people together to enjoy the outdoors, and to appreciate the rich history and beauty of the areas she lived in and loved.

The events of this weekend are based on her Cache, Dash, Splash events starting with this evening’s pub night where Laurie’s sister Katie (FreelerSquealers) will be present.

Tonight’s event will be at The Rose and Crown Pub and is limited to 50 people.  When logging your will attend please note how many people will be attending.  Once 50 people have logged a will attend we will start a cancellation list.  Happy Hour is from 4 - 6 and this event will be from 5 - 8 so feel free to arrive a bit early to enjoy Happy Hour if you wish.  Prepare to wait a bit for your meals as Friday nights are the Pub’s busiest nights.
