Geocache Description:

[EST]  SP ehk "Sindi pargid" seeria viib geohoolikud Tori valla keskuslinna, kus ühtedel andmetel on 23, teistel 25 ja kolmandatel 32 parki. Neist kaks, Kiriku ja ja Sõpruse park on looduskaitse all. Ametlikult laiuvad Sindi pargid kokku 47 hektaril. Haljasalade rajamist alustati Sindis juba 1834. aastal, kui pärast kalevivabriku valmimist asus siia elama mitmeid välismaiseid spetsialiste, sealhulgas aednik.

Sõpruse park on tänapäeval enim kasutuses olev park Sindis. Siin jalutatakse koeri, mängitakse võrkpalli ja kettagolfi (18 korviga harrastajasõbralik pargirada), suusatatakse, kelgutatakse ja peetakse jaanituld. Pargi serval asub Tori vallavalitsus, enne haldusreformi asus siin Sindi linnavalitsus.

Pargis asus Sydney ooperiteatrit meenutav laululava, mis valmis Sindi 1. Detsembri nimelise tekstiilivabriku juubeliks 1983. aastal.

Nullis saad teada, kus sõbralik aare end peidab. Ettevaatust! Lendavad kettad!

[ENG] The SP or "Sindi Parks" series will take geoholics to the central town of the municipality of Tori, where some say there are 23 parks, others 25, and still others 32. Two of them, Kiriku and Sõpruse parks, are under nature protection. Officially, Sindi's parks cover a total of 47 hectares.

Sõpruse (Friendship) Park is the most used park in Sindi today. People walk their dogs, play volleyball and disc golf (an 18-basket, amateur-friendly park track), go skiing, sledging and have bonfires. The Tori municipality government is located on the edge of the park, which was the seat of the Sindi city government before the administrative reform.

The park used to be home to a singing stage reminiscent of the Sydney Opera House, which was built to commemorate the anniversary of the Sindi 1st December Textile Factory in 1983. In the 1980s and 1990s, the song pavilion was a prestigious concert venue and was also used for Midsummer celebrations. As the song lodge was in a remote location, it was a target for vandals. Both the time bomb and the attackers made the structure of the building vulnerable to collapse and it was demolished on 5 February 2020.
