Geocache Description:

[EST] SP ehk "Sindi pargid" seeria viib geohoolikud Tori valla keskuslinna, kus ühtedel andmetel on 23, teistel 25 ja kolmandatel 32 parki. Neist kaks, Kiriku ja ja Sõpruse park on looduskaitse all. Ametlikult laiuvad Sindi pargid kokku 47 hektaril. Haljasalade rajamist alustati Sindis juba 1834. aastal, kui pärast kalevivabriku valmimist asus siia elama mitmeid välismaiseid spetsialiste, sealhulgas aednik.

Kiriku park. Sindi õigeusu kirikut ümbritsev vabakujunduslik park (3,4ha) moodustab kirikuga ühtse ansambli. Liigirikkuselt on tegemist küll vaese pargiga, kus kasvab vaid 13 kodumaist ja üheksa võõramaist erinevat puittaime. Siiski on park oluline Sindi linna haljastuse seisukohalt ja väärtuslik põlispuude poolest.

Pärnu linna rahvasaadikute nõukogu 13. novembri 1981 otsusega võeti park kui kohaliku tähtsusega loodusobjekt, looduskaitse alla.

Kuna siin on juba paar vanemat geoaaret, tuli "SP"-seeria jaoks mõelda kastist välja.

[ENG]  The SP or "Sindi Parks" series will take geoholics to the central town of the municipality of Tori, where some say there are 23 parks, others 25 and still others 32. Two of them, Kiriku and Sõpruse parks, are under nature protection. Officially, Sindi's parks cover a total of 47 hectares. The establishment of green areas in Sindi began as early as 1834, when a number of foreign professionals, including a gardener, settled here after the completion of the coal factory.

Church Park. The open-air park (3.4 ha) surrounding the Sindi Orthodox Church forms an ensemble with the church. It is a sparse park in terms of species diversity, with only 13 indigenous and nine alien tree species. However, the park is important for the landscaping of the city of Sindi and valuable for its indigenous trees.

By a decision of the Pärnu city council of 13 November 1981, the park was placed under nature protection as a natural object of local importance.

As there are already a couple of older caches here, it was necessary to think out of the box for the "SP" series. This way, the cache is not located in the zero, but in the place with the best view of the Church Park. Click here for detailed instructions: https://www.jigidi.com/created.php?id=NRV9F2YX

There are no roads leading to the cache. Park your car in the bushes in the guided parking (neighbour is aware) and have a good trip!
