Rövid történet:
Az eredeti épület 1773-ban épült barokk stílusban, majd XIX. század második felében eklektikus stílusban átalakították. Méreteire jellemző, hogy kétszintes pincéje lovaskocsival is járható.Földszintes, árkádos, manzárdtetős épület oromzatán a rokokó kőfaragvány a kastély építőjének címerét mutatja. Teleki József, a reformkori tudós itt írta történelmi munkáit. Az épületet a grófi család az I. világháború után hadiárvaház céljára felajánlotta. Így lett előbb árvaház, majd gyermekvédelmi intézmény. Itt nevelkedett 8 hónapos korától 3 éves koráig Olvasztó Imre Az Indul a bakterház című film gyermekfőszereplője. A 2008-ban felújított kastély a zenekultúra egyik központja lett. Magyar Kóruskastély a hangversenyek mellett szakmai műhelymunkára, előadásokra, kiállításokra, találkozókra is alkalmas. A kastélykertet tavaly újították fel, és helyet kapott benne a gyerekek örömére egy játszótér is.
Short history:
The original building was built in 1773 in Baroque style, later in the second half of the 19th century it was modified in eclectic style. The fact that the basement of the building is passable with horse-drawn carriage shows it's immense sizes. The rococo stone carving on the gable of the one-story, arcaded, mansard-roofed building shows the coat of arms of the castle's builder, József Teleki. Teleki, who was a scientist in the reform era, wrote his historical works here. The building was donated by the Count's family as a war orphanage after World War I., later it became a child protection institution. Imre Olvasztó, the child protagonist of the famous hungarian movie "Indul a bakterház", was raised here from the age of 8 months to 3 years. The castle was renovated in 2008 and became a center of music culture. In addition to concerts, the Hungarian Choir Castle is also suitable for professional workshops, lectures, exhibitions, and meetings. The castle garden was renovated last year, and there is also a playground for the children.
How to approach:
You need to take any Volán bus from the Pomáz HÉV station to Szabadság Square, it takes 3 stops to get there. After getting off the bus you will need to walk around 300 meters to reach the castle. First, go straight ahead on Szerb Street, then left on School Street, when you reach the church square, turn right on the gently rising road in front of the Catholic Church, through a double-winged iron gate, you have already entered the castle grounds. The other option is that you go on foot from the HÉV station, if you choose this, walk to the CBA department store, then head towards the roundabout (1956 monument), then continue on the route of the following: József Attila Street, Heroes' Square, Kossuth Lajos Street (Reformed church, then the town hall) and finally Szabadság Square. From here, based on the above, proceed towards Szerb Street. If you come with a car, you can park in the lower parking lot of the castle.
The cache is located in the public area outside the entrance. You can enter the castle garden without a permit to look around and take photos. Gates close at 9:00 p.m. Unfortunately, dogs cannot be brought into the park I would like to ask everyone not to upload photos of the location of the geocache and not to give hints in the log. Thanks!
