Monty the Misguided Monitor Lizard Cache
CAUTION: There are strands of barbed wire near the cache location (see photos). However, the cache can be retrieved without risk of injury.
So a monitor lizard, let’s call him Monty, missed his connecting flight to Kuala Lumpur. This is understandable because lizards can’t read signs or ask for directions. Monty then decided to try his luck getting home by boat. He crawled onto the first ship he came across moments before it disembarked.
There were lots of rats to eat on the ship so Monty thought it was a splendid voyage. Many many days later the ship docked in Boston, Massachusetts. Monty got off the ship but didn’t like the city much because it was noisy and scary but at least he found a half-eaten corn dog to snack on.
Monty wondered around until he ended up at North Station and then he crawled onto a commuter train. The train went until it stopped in Acton, the town that took the i out of action. Monty’s lizard logic told him to get off the train there so he did. He meandered around town but couldn’t find much to eat besides a dead hamster, RIP Miss Buttercup.
Then one day a man in a beat up Toyota truck pulled over, picked up Monty and drove away. The driver was none other than local drunkard and pseudo-expert Bobby Doyle, winner of the 2024 Nashoba Valley Beer Funnel Challenge. Bobby drove from Acton to Littleton and along the way he called several people to tell them he had a monitor lizard “riding shotgun” with him. None of these people believed him because he was Bobby Doyle. Somewhere in Littleton the truck stopped moving and Bobby could not make it go again. Monty decided to ditch this loser and wandered into some nearby woods to find a place to chill for a bit.
Maybe you could find Monty and help him make it back to Kuala Lumpur...or at least bring him a small dead mammal to eat.
