GOOGLE THE BONUS INFO (BLUE TEXT) GIVEN TO YOU IN STAGE 1 BY THE CERTITUDE! Last summer, I got the geocaching app. This was an awesome decision, as it gave me things to do all day during the summer, and when the summer ended, I did not stop geocaching. I have been very frequently hunting for them recently, but I have noticed that there are so few to find in Lynnfield. I decided that I wanted to hide tons of geocaches around Lynnfield to provide more fun for others. Please be kind and respectful to the amazing librarians and other visitors. This is the second of the Lynnfield Series. More caches coming soon! Happy hunting! Lynnfield Public Library is a historic library in the center of the little town. It originally opened in 1892, in the form of a room in the new (at the time) town hall. In 1904, the library moved across the street to where it is now, and Miss Elizabeth W. Green became the first librarian at the age of 18. Later, in  1923, a branch library across town was established, in Mrs. Cora Pike's home. During the 1950's, it underwent many changes.y The library's book collection skyrocketed up, as did the town's population. In 1959, an addition was built onto the library in an attempt to solve the spacial issue. 8 years later, the expansion that gives the library most of its size, the large reading room with a mezzane, was added. In 1974,  focus was placed on collecting, organizing and analyzing local history and genealogy resources. In 1981, Lynnfield Public Library became the second library to join a project after Peabody (who founded it), which would digitalize the library catalog. In the mid 80's, the library underwent more physical changes. These involved adding a ramp out front, repairing the roof, adding air conditioning, widening the aisles between shelves, relocating the refrence desk, and turning the basement into usable space for more books. These projects wrapped up, and the first year in the new library was 1992. the rest of the 90's and 2000's were deticated to changing services, programs and collections. Currently, there are about 90,000 items in the library. If you would like to learn more about the Lynnfield Library, go to https://lynnfieldlibrary.org . This cache is placed with permission.
