I don't know if I would have gotten into caching if I hadn't had a close friend who'd been doing it for a long time show me the ropes. Not everyone has that, so I decided to place a few caches in an easy "Newbie Cache" series to help new cachers learn more about the different kinds of caches and hiding spots. I will be providing lots of directions and pictures so those new to this fun hobby can have some early successes and learn some of the typical hiding containers and spots.
About Shattuck Park: In December 1924, Ms. Emma Morrill Shattuck offered these undeveloped wooded lots to the Town of Norwood. To date, the area remains open space with trails criss-crossing mixed woods. This park serves as a green oasis for the surrounding neighborhood. You can park easily on Bellevue Street or any other nearby street..
Experienced cachers: Stop reading now if you want to avoid spoilers, and for certain don't look at the photos attached!
New cachers: This cache in a fairly common container, a small pill bottle. I have wrapped it in camoflage duct tape, something else you'll see pretty often. I have hidden this in a stone wall. Try looking first, because the hint and picture will definitely give it away.
After you've signed and dated the log, please be sure to close the plastic baggie and then the container tightly so it remains waterproof. Bring your own pen. Be sure to hide well, just as you found it, with some leaves covering it so it's hidden.
A small token is included for the FTF. Happy caching!
