EN: If you're driving from Tallinn to Tartu, about 20 km before reaching the city, you’ll spot a charming hill welcoming travelers with its very own Hollywood sign. Most people heading to Tartu have seen it, and many curious adventurers have even stopped to climb the hill and take a closer look.
According to stories, the Hollywood sign on this hill got its start in 1996, when students from the University of Tartu were dining at a nearby restaurant and had a brilliant idea: to craft large letters from old fence boards and mount them on the hillside.
Locals affectionately refer to it as Estonia’s Hollywood Hill, and it holds a special place in their hearts. In the autumn of 2022, a crowdfunding campaign on Hooandja raised money to bring the old sign back to life. There were also plans for a viewing platform and a staircase up the hill. Unfortunately, only enough funds were raised to restore the sign itself, which was completed that same year. The other upgrades are still pending, and there’s no further news on when they might happen.
This cache invites you to climb the hill, enjoy the view, and of course, look for the conteiner.
Be careful as you go—especially on the way down—as the slope is quite steep and can be slippery.
To reach the cache, you’ll need to climb twice.
