At the ADDED waypoints you may catch a glimpse of nesting or possibly flying eagles or osprey. At the published coordinates...actually about 50' east from there you will always be able to spot an eagle. Virtually. Look up.
In 1967 eagles were listed as endangered. Pesticide poisoning and loss of habitat were serious problems. The eagle population has rebounded and they were removed from the list in 2007. It's a thrill to see eagles. Currently there is a nesting pair here.
Osprey like eagles are birds of prey. They also live near the river because it's a source of food-fish. There is a pair nesting here for the 5th year in a row over which they have 9 fledgelings.
To get credit for visiting this cache please message me a photo of a personel item of yours taken at the location. It can be a trackable, a GPS/phone, a piece of paper with your caching name. Optional task but encouraged enjoy and hopefully see a raptor.
