Geocaching is built on a beautifully simple idea: use GPS coordinates to find hidden treasures around the world, but the magic behind those coordinates depends on an incredibly sophisticated system of satellites, timing signals, and Earth models.
On May 2, 2000, the Blue Switch was flipped and GPS became availablel to civilians around the world. On May 3, 2000 Geocaching was born!!! This world-wide treasure hunt continues to grow around the world and there are millions of people of all ages playing it. Its a fun way to meet other people, exercise outdoors, travel, and so much more!!! It's how we are "seeing the world!"
Celebrate Blue Switch Day anytime of the year! Happy caching!!!
