Geocache Description:

Most people pass by without even noticing the well-kept, peaceful park of 56 hectare in the 8th district of Budapest.

The graveyard is 150 years old by now. The first burial took place after the Fight for Freedom in 1848/49. In addition to its role as public cemetery, in the second half of the 19th century it gradualy became the honorary graveyard for prominent personalities - artists, politicians, scientists were granted honorary graves in the yard. These sepulchres and mausoleums were mostly created by famous artists.

The cemetery is not projecting a homogeneous image. Each era made an effort to establish their own representative, cultic area. Between the crammed patches there are also big emty areas and some of the parts appear to have run wild. At such an infrequented location is the cash hidden at a wall, under some stones and leaf-litter (4.5'' x 4.5'' x 1.5 '')

At the flowershop by the main entrance you can buy an information map of the cemetery for less than 1 euro. If you happen to spend some time in the graveyard you will find candles close to the cache.
