Geocache Description:

Oh, my. What a cache! Finding the trailhead is almost as difficult as finding the cache. It's a smallish tupperware with a white lid hidden in a fairly obvious spot (but there are several good spots). Read long description for parking and some help.

One of the students in my academic lab told me about this trail. I went to check it out yesterday in flip flops. I turned around and went home.

Came back and did some exploration on a beautiful Saturday morning. And what an amazing time I had.

PARKING: Start on historic route 7A
turn onto Daniels Road
@ end make right
follow for a while... until "road closed" sign
make a right
keep going
@ mangled road sign make a left
follow for a while
turn onto Shaftsbury Hollow Road
keep going... you'll get to a red vacation home
TH and parking across the street

To the Cache!

The following is how I go... you can find your own way if you'd like, but I like this way

Start up the trail and you'll see a stream bed going straight and up. You'll see a gravelly trail go to the left and up a hill -- take it. Go up, up, up. You'll eventually walk a stream bed... after crossing a downed birch. Keep going and then the stream will go off and you'll be on a dry trail. Eventually you'll see a house. Keep going. Before the second house (I have no clue how they got there, don't ask!) you're going to make like Dorothy. You're on your own from here.

A Few Things:
1. Do NOT go alone
2. Your cell phone will not work
3. Let someone know where you are
4. The roads going to the cache are not the best... don't bring the new jag.
5. Do NOT go alone
