Geocache Description:

The above coordinates are for parking. Alternative parking at weekends and evenings can be found at N51 36.096 E00 18.056
This cache is situated on the site of part of the old Warley barracks, the home of the old Essex Regiment. In 1958 the Regiment amalgamated with The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment to form 3rd East Anglian Regiment (16th/44 Foot.) Most of the buildings belonging to the Essex Regiment were demolished in the early 1960s, making way for a large housing estate and office block, however, a few of the old buildings still remain. You will pass four of these old buildings in your search for the cache. The first being the garage by the council depot, now used to house local council vehicles. The second building is The Keys Hall near clue F. It was used as a gym by the army, but was taken over by the local council, and is now used as a function hall. After finding all the clues your trek will take you past Blenheim House which used to be the officers mess. During the Second World War a V2 exploded very near here, and slightly damaged the house. The engine of the V2 was blown off and landed in Barrack Wood where it remains to this day. As you wander on you will pass The Regimental Chapel, a grade II listed building that was built in 1857 for the East India Company. It was then occupied by the Essex Regiment when the regiment moved to Brentwood
After you have found the cache a short walk through the woods will take you to a Pub and restaurant, a golf driving range a ski slope, a go carting track and a gym.
** Be aware that there are one or two roads to cross that are busy at times**

To find the cache there are six clues to find, and an easy walk of about a mile. The final coordinates are N51 35.ABC E00 17.DEF
