This is a multi cache along Route 2 in Richmond. It is near a memorable stop we made for snacks and restrooms.
Here is a story about a caching trip that happened in the middle of Oct.
Tharagleb had solved the puzzle to Functional Harmony and invited us to join him for the hunt. We then invited Scubatime and decided to take 2 cars, so that afterwards, we would go for some of the new caches in Burlington. CAL was riding with Scubatime, and Tharagleb was riding with me (DJ). After we finished the F series caches, we stopped along the way at the Cumbys in Richmond. I parked down the street a ways, while Scuba and CAL pulled up to the gas pumps to fuel up.
While we were inside the store paying for snacks and fuel, the guy in the car behind Scuba was getting impatient, so she went out to move her car. I waited in the store for CAL to use the restrooms. As CAL and I exited the store, we saw Scuba waiting near the curb. I handed CAL her drink and snack and told her to have Scuba follow me and we would head to Burlington.
I crossed the street and hopped into the truck, started it, hooked the seatbelt and checked my mirror. Scuba was pulling out of the intersection, headed towards me, so I pulled out ahead of her, and we were on our way.
As we got up the road about .75 miles, Scuba calls me and asks something like “I hope you are going to tell me that CAL is riding with you?”
I think, she must be teasing. So I play along and say “Well of coarse she is. Why?”
Scuba then says jokingly “Good! Because I’m gonna steal all the mice out of her backpack”.
Now I know she is teasing, because I have all the mice with me. So I tell her “Go ahead and try.” We joke back and forth a little more, and then I let her go because I am getting beeped.
When I answer the next call, it is CAL, with a very sober voice saying “I don’t think it’s very funny!”…
I think she is riding with Scuba and teasing about the mice, So I say “What? I have them with me?”
The tone in her voice is now rather stern, “I don’t appreciate you taking off and leaving me here!” CLICK!
UTOH!! I realize now that I have made a big mistake and turn the truck around and hurry back to Cumbys. Thankfully we had cell phones with call waiting. 30 seconds later, and I would have been on the Interstate headed for Burlington, and in need of counseling.
For stage 1, virtual, you go to the listed coordinates N 44* 24.312, W 072* 59.592 and find the posted clearance height.
To find stage 2 micro, Add this height “in inches” to both the North and West decimal minutes of these coordinates,
N 44* 24.606, W 072* 59.810.
You do not need to break or take things apart to find the micro.
The final is in a Decon box.
Stealth will be required.
